What is Social Mobility?

Social mobility simply means giving people the chance to move up in life, improving their circumstances, career prospects, and financial independence.

For many autistic people in the UK, social mobility can feel out of reach. Research by the Office for National Statistics shows that only around 29% of autistic adults are in any kind of work, the lowest employment rate of any disabled group. This lack of opportunity isn’t because autistic people can’t work, but because workplaces often don’t understand how to support them.

That’s where we come in.

We’re proud to be a social enterprise, which means we operate as a business, generating revenue through the sale of our chocolates, but we reinvest the majority of our profits back into our social mission.

How We Improve Social Mobility

Every autistic person we employ gains more than just a paycheque. Through training, work experience, and on-the-job learning, our employees develop skills, confidence, and a sense of independence.

Over the years, we’ve supported over 360 autistic people, many of whom have gone on to achieve incredible things. Some have moved into roles with larger companies like Sainsbury’s and Amazon, others have passed driving tests, gained qualifications, and even purchased their first home.

By providing a supportive, inclusive environment, we help autistic people take those first, crucial steps on the career ladder, steps that lead to greater financial stability and wider opportunities.
